THE YEARS BETWEEN CHILDHOOD AND ADULTHOOD CAN BE CHALLENGING:
NEKCA’s wrap around services help young people to achieve a constructive and rewarding adulthood. We strive to meet any and all needs for teens – including basic needs (housing, food), education (tutoring, GED programs), employment, mentoring and emergencies.
Crisis Youth Services:
Call 802.334.1092 (8:00am – 4:30pm).
After hours emergencies responses: call 911 for an emergency or 802-334-8881 for Derby State Police or 802.334.6733 Newport Police. Ask to speak with someone from Youth Services.
CAYS Transition Services
Provides life skills instruction both individually and in group settings to youth transitioning from foster care and for youth who are homeless or without help of their legal guardian. The CAYS staff help youth find safe living placements, assess life skills, strengths and needs, provides emotional support, guidance, advocacy and referral sources, and coordinates with other agencies’ services.
Preservation & Stabilization Services For Youth and Families
Provides intervention for 12-18 year olds in crisis and their families which may include short-term alternative living arrangements and individual and family counseling.
Another Chance
High School Graduation and GED support for pregnant and parenting teens and young adults – all genders. Available at our Parent Child Centers (North and South)
